A most symbolic journey was undertaken by members of
the Romanian Royal Family on the weekend of November 30-December 1 to celebrate
DECEMBER 1 - Romania National Day.
This day memorializes the unification of Transylvania
into '"The Great Romania" in 1918 as
well as regions of Basarabia and Bucovina.
With great pride is also evoking the great Romanian kings, Carol I
and Ferdinand I, in remembrance of the train routes established 95 years ago by
King Ferdinand and Queen Marie, from North Station, Bucharest built in 1872 and Sinaia Train Station built in
1913 both erected under the reign of King Carol I.
King Ferdinand I |
Royal Train route followed Sinaia, Campina, Ploiesti
West Station, and North Station Bucharest, where Crown Princess Margareta,
Prince Radu, Princess Elena and Prince Nicholas inaugurated the "Royal Train
Station" recently restored in its original glory from the time of King
Carol I.
At Campina train station Romanian children greet The Royal Train with bread and salt, ancient custom of the land |
Crown Princess Margareta of Romania and Spouse Price Radu |
I wonder which of the Royal Chefs traveled along to provide meals and comfort so everyone would be eating royally....
